Separate frequent and occasional jobs
Use a weekly cleaning schedule for recurring upkeep. Keep room-by-room deep cleaning on a different list so it does not crowd out the everyday essentials.
Make shared chores specific
Write the task, who is doing it and when it needs attention. Agree on expectations together; a chore chart is a reminder, not a substitute for that conversation.
Keep the first reset small
Choose one surface, one load of laundry or one decluttering area. A short list you can finish is a useful starting point for a sustainable routine.
